The School To Career Department offers two programs.

The Work Experience Program is available to juniors and seniors, as an elective program and as a graduation completer. This program provides a carefully monitored experience in a workplace setting. Students complete a 1 credit Occupational Preparation course and receive 3 credits for a minimum of 15 hours of work per week. Most students are dismissed from school after attending 4 periods in the morning. BCPS bus transportation is available at designated times.

The Honors and GT Internship Program provides seniors with a carefully monitored interactive experience in a work based setting. Students probe the depth and breadth of a specific profession with academic rigor. Two honors credits are awarded for 10 site hours and completion of academic requirements. Most students schedule their on-site hours after attending 4 class periods. Interns may develop their own sites or choose from hundreds in the department's site bank.

Applications for both programs are available from the STC Office and the department's link and must be submitted to the department chairman for review/selection.
